About this Event

Re_Action Day hosted by Reset. Architecture and the Mackintosh School of Architecture, Glasgow School of Art and in collaboration with the School of Anthropocene, GSA Sustainability Group, Collective Architecture and many more, aims to bring students together, practising architects and educators for a day of talks, workshops, discussions and debates in an event to address the knowledge gap that both staff and students currently possess, giving both groups the tools to begin tackling the climate crisis.

Our Guest Collaborators include :

Collective Architecture – Award-Winning Glasgow and Edinburgh based practice, employee-owned practise, Winners of 2018 AJ Architect of the Year, collective works across a range of sectors.

Missing in Architecture – Collective of practitioners and educators, Founders – Isabel Deakin, Kathy Li and Miranda Webster, Mackintosh School of Architecture, interested in addressing the gaps within architecture.

Studio Bark – An award-winning architecture practice of various designers and architects based in East London, who are environmentally driven. Involved in the Extinction Rebellion and Architecture Climate Action network.

Centre of Alternate Technologies – Based in Wales, founded in 1973, has been the epicentre of sustainable development. Focuses on teaching sustainable methodology.

Anthropocene School of Architecture, Scott McAulay – an alternative school of architecture focused on addressing the climate crisis: delivering workshops on Climate Literacy to built environment professionals, students, and the wider public; and facilitating the Crisis Studio for students to address knowledge and skills gaps.

RIAS, Robin Webster OBE – President of RIAS, Partner at Cameronwebster Architects, Emeritus Professor Robert Gordon University.

Architype, Jonathan Hines – three times AJ100 Sustainable Practice of the Year, and the UK’s leading Passivhaus architectural practice, now working on a range of innovative Passivhaus/zero-carbon projects across Scotland from our Edinburgh office

Open Call

Calling all Scottish Students. Are you interested in Sustainable Design? Do you have a project that explores these principles? We need you!

If you have a project that would be relevant to the day, whether it explores materials, form conversation any other sustainable principles. Come and present your work.

Through a series of Pecha Kucha style presentations, we hope to showcase the best of Scottish Student Sustainability.
